Taylor Momsen was born in St.Louis on July 26 1993 to Collette and Michael Momsen. She began her acting career at age 3 with a national commercial for Shake-N-Bake. Her first roles were a guest starring spot on Early Edition, and a role in the feature film “Prophet’s Game” with Dennis Hopper.
In 2000 Taylor got her first big role of Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Two years later, Taylor landed the role of Julie Moore in We Were Soldiers (2002) which also starred her younger sister, Sloane Momsen. After that, she got parts in two more motion pictures: Hansel & Gretel, in which she played Gretel, and Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, in which she played Alexandra, the President’s daughter.
Taylor’s career came to a halt for over three years until she has been announced to play the role of “Hopper Watson” in the proposed series for 2006 title “Misconceptions”. In 2002, Momsen recorded “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” & “One Small Voice” featuring Myra & Camille Winbush for School’s Out! Christmas. Watch for her also as ‘Samantha Wallace’in the feature film Saving Shiloh.
Momsen is in the 2006 films Doubting Thomas. Her next film was Underdog, produced by Walt Disney Pictures, which began filming in April of 2006 and was released on August 3, 2007. As of September 19th, 2007, she is a series regular in the television series Gossip Girl, based on the book series from Alloy Entertainment, written by Cecily Von Ziegesar. She plays the character of Jenny Humphrey.
